(Conservative) for Southport between 1910 and 1923.1 He fought in the First World War, and was mentioned in despatches three times.1 He was commander of the 5th (Reserve) Battalion, Grenadier Guards between 1914 and 1916.1 He gained the rank of Brevet Lieutenant-Colonel in 1916.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Southport from 1924 to 1931.1 On 9 July 1926 his name was legally changed to Godfrey Dalrymple Dalrymple-White by Deed Poll.1 He was created 1st Baronet Dalrymple-White, of High Mark, Wigtownshire [U.K.] on 28 July 1926.1 He was appointed Fellow, Zoological Society (F.Z.S.)1 He held the office of Governor of Wellington College in 1936.1
