     He graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine (M.B.)¹ He graduated with a Bachelor of Surgery (Ch.B.)¹ He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Army Medical Corps.¹

     Vera Whitaker is the daughter of Joseph Whitaker.¹ She married Sir Harold Bowden, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Frank Bowden, 1st Bt. and Amelia Frances Houston, on 7 July 1908. She and Sir Harold Bowden, 2nd Bt. were divorced in 1919.¹
     From 7 July 1908, her married name became Bowden.¹

     Joseph Whitaker lived at Rainworth Lodge, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, England^G.¹ He was appointed Fellow, Zoological Society (F.Z.S.)¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹

     Ruth Bowden was born on 26 February 1911.¹ She is the daughter of Sir Harold Bowden, 2nd Bt. and Vera Whitaker.¹ She married, firstly, Christopher Bourchier Wrey, son of Edward Castell Wrey and Katherine Joan Dene, on 8 June 1932.¹ She and Christopher Bourchier Wrey were divorced in 1947.¹ She married, secondly, Ernest Wittmann, son of Armin Wittmann, on 3 September 1947.¹
     From 8 June 1932, her married name became Wrey.¹ From 3 September 1947, her married name became Wittmann.¹ She lived in 2003 at Flat 3, Hale House, 34 De Vere Gardens, London, England^G.¹

     Christopher Bourchier Wrey was born on 27 January 1906.² He was the son of Edward Castell Wrey and Katherine Joan Dene.^1,2 He married Ruth Bowden, daughter of Sir Harold Bowden, 2nd Bt. and Vera Whitaker, on 8 June 1932.¹ He and Ruth Bowden were divorced in 1947.¹ He died in 1976.¹
     He was educated at Blundell’s School, Tiverton, Devon, England.² He gained the rank of Major in the 3rd County of London Yeomanry (The Sharpshooters.)² He fought in the Second World War.² He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.) in 1946.²

     Edward Castell Wrey was born on 9 February 1875.² He is the son of Sir Henry Bourchier Toke Wrey, 10th Bt. and Marianne Sarah Sherard.² He married Katherine Joan Dene, daughter of Reverend John Dene and Katherine Twysden Molesworth, on 11 April 1901.² He died on 28 January 1933 at age 57.²
     He lived at Oxton, Nottinghamshire, England^G.¹

     Ernest Wittmann was the son of Armin Wittmann.¹ He married Ruth Bowden, daughter of Sir Harold Bowden, 2nd Bt. and Vera Whitaker, on 3 September 1947.¹ He died on 2 September 1995.¹

     Armin Wittmann lived at Zilinia, Czechoslovakia.¹

     Muriel Smythe Ker-Douglas was the daughter of William Ker-Douglas.¹ She married Sir Harold Bowden, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Frank Bowden, 1st Bt. and Amelia Frances Houston, on 18 January 1920.¹ She died on 24 October 1952.¹
     From 18 January 1920, her married name became Bowden.¹

     William Ker-Douglas lived at Dalry, Ayrshire, Scotland^G.¹
