     Sir Frank Bowden, 1st Bt. was born on 30 January 1848.¹ He was the son of William Bowden.¹ He married Amelia Frances Houston, daughter of Colonel Alexander Houston, on 17 September 1879.¹ He died on 25 April 1921 at age 73.¹
     He was founder and chairman of Raleigh Cycle Company, and Sturmey Archer Gears.¹ He was appointed Fellow, Royal Geographical Society (F.R.G.S.)¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹ He was created 1st Baronet Bowden, of the City of Nottingham [U.K.] on 23 June 1915.¹

     Sir Harold Bowden, 2nd Bt. was born on 9 July 1880.¹ He was the son of Sir Frank Bowden, 1st Bt. and Amelia Frances Houston.¹ He married, firstly, Vera Whitaker, daughter of Joseph Whitaker, on 7 July 1908. He and Vera Whitaker were divorced in 1919.¹ He married, secondly, Muriel Smythe Ker-Douglas, daughter of William Ker-Douglas, on 18 January 1920.¹ He married, thirdly, June Bowden MacKay, daughter of Thomas Henry MacKay, on 4 November 1952.¹ He married, fourthly, Valerie Raymont Came, daughter of Richard Raymont Came, on 11 February 1957.¹ He died on 24 August 1960 at age 80.¹
     He was educated at Clifton College, Clifton, Bristol, England^G.¹ He was educated at Clare College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G.¹ He was awarded the Grand Cross, Order of the Phoenix of Greece.¹ He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Bowden, of the City of Nottingham [U.K., 1915] on 25 April 1921.¹ He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the British Empire (G.B.E.) in 1929.¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of Nottinghamshire in 1933.¹ He was president of Raleigh Industries.¹

     Sir Frank Houston Bowden, 3rd Bt. was born on 10 August 1909.¹ He was the son of Sir Harold Bowden, 2nd Bt. and Vera Whitaker.¹ He married, firstly, Marie José Stiénon de Messey, daughter of Charles Stiénon and Comtesse Laure de Messey, on 28 April 1934.¹ He and Marie José Stiénon de Messey were divorced in 1936.¹ He married, secondly, Lydia Eveline Manolovici, daughter of Jean Manolovici, on 3 March 1937.¹ He married, thirdly, Oriol Annette Mary Bath, daughter of Charles Hooper Bath and Josephine Langford, in 1989.¹ He died on 1 December 2001 at age 92.¹
     He was given the name of Frank Bowden at birth.¹ He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, England^G.¹ He graduated from Merton College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, in 1931 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve.¹ He graduated from Merton College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, in 1953 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He was founder of Meron Motion Pictures (which produced This Oxford in 1928.)¹ He was an industrialist and landowner.¹ In 1960 his name was legally changed to Frank Houston Bowden.¹ He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Bowden, of the City of Nottingham [U.K., 1915] on 24 August 1960.¹ He was awarded the Order of the Rising Sun of Japan in 2000 Gold Rays with Rosette.¹

     Sir Nicholas Richard Bowden, 4th Bt. was born on 13 August 1935.¹ He is the son of Sir Frank Houston Bowden, 3rd Bt. and Marie José Stiénon de Messey.¹
     He was educated at Millfield School, Street, Somerset, England^G.¹ He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Bowden, of the City of Nottingham [U.K., 1915] on 1 December 2001.¹ He lived in 2003 at 4 Hensing Farm Cottages, Fishers Pond, Eastleigh, Hampshire, England^G.¹

     William Bowden lived at Bristol, England^G.¹

     Amelia Frances Houston was the daughter of Colonel Alexander Houston.¹ She married Sir Frank Bowden, 1st Bt., son of William Bowden, on 17 September 1879.¹ She died on 4 April 1937.¹
     From 17 September 1879, her married name became Bowden.¹

     Colonel Alexander Houston lived at California, U.S.A.^G.¹

     Claud Bowden was born on 4 August 1890.¹ He was the son of Sir Frank Bowden, 1st Bt. and Amelia Frances Houston.¹ He died on 21 October 1906 at age 16.¹

     Helen Bowden is the daughter of Sir Frank Bowden, 1st Bt. and Amelia Frances Houston.¹ She married John Davison Barnsdale on 29 June 1910.¹
     From 29 June 1910, her married name became Barnsdale.¹

     John Davison Barnsdale married Helen Bowden, daughter of Sir Frank Bowden, 1st Bt. and Amelia Frances Houston, on 29 June 1910.¹ He died on 5 August 1960.¹
