     Sydney Bowater was born on 29 August 1874 at Broughton, Lancashire, England.^1,2 He was the son of William Vansittart Bowater and Eliza Jane Davey.¹ He married Jeanette Lucille de Lisle, daughter of Hirzel Peter C. de Lisle and Ellen Mary A. Spence, in 1910 at London, England.^1,2 He died on 14 May 1939 at age 64.¹
     He lived at Bury Hall, Edmonton, London, England^G.¹

     Jeanette Lucille de Lisle was born in 1876 at Blackheath, Kent, England.^1,2 She was the daughter of Hirzel Peter C. de Lisle and Ellen Mary A. Spence.² She married Sydney Bowater, son of William Vansittart Bowater and Eliza Jane Davey, in 1910 at London, England.^1,2 She died on 23 December 1967.¹
     From 1910, her married name became Bowater.¹

     Norman Vansittart Bowater was born on 1 July 1862.¹ He was the son of William Vansittart Bowater and Eliza Jane Davey.¹ He married, firstly, Jessie Selina Talbot in 1907.¹ He married, secondly, Jessie F. Frampton, daughter of W. J. Frampton, in 1925.¹ He died on 6 May 1934 at age 71.¹

     Jessie Selina Talbot married Norman Vansittart Bowater, son of William Vansittart Bowater and Eliza Jane Davey, in 1907.¹ She died in 1925.¹
     From 1907, her married name became Bowater.¹

     Major Norman Knightley Vansittart Bowater was born on 28 January 1915.¹ He was the son of Norman Vansittart Bowater and Jessie Selina Talbot.¹ He married Jessie Sproat, daughter of John Barber Sproat, on 1 November 1944.¹ He died on 9 September 1999 at age 84.¹

     Jessie Sproat is the daughter of John Barber Sproat.¹ She married Major Norman Knightley Vansittart Bowater, son of Norman Vansittart Bowater and Jessie Selina Talbot, on 1 November 1944.¹
     From 1 November 1944, her married name became Bowater.¹ She lived in 2003 at 4 Malvern Road, Ashford, Kent, England^G.¹

     John Barber Sproat lived at Lennox Plunton, Borgue, Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland^G.¹

     Jane Margaret Bowater was born on 28 July 1950.¹ She is the daughter of Major Norman Knightley Vansittart Bowater and Jessie Sproat.¹ She married, firstly, Martin Marais in December 1974.¹ She and Martin Marais were divorced in 1985.¹ She married, secondly, Max Nicholas Brown, son of Edward Brown and Anne Elisabeth Ohrt, on 11 March 1989.¹
     She was educated between 1961 and 1968 at Ashford Grammar School for Girls, Ashford, Kent, England^G.² From December 1974, her married name became Marais.¹ From 11 March 1989, her married name became Brown.¹
