John Blakiston-Houston was born on 18 April 1881.¹ He was the son of John Blakiston-Houston and Marian Gertrude Streatfeild.¹ He married, firstly, Louise Henrietta Leconte, daughter of Gustave Louis Leconte, on 22 November 1910.¹ He married, secondly, Emma Millicent Coles, daughter of George Frederick Coles, on 20 May 1954.¹ He died on 14 December 1959 at age 78, without issue.¹
     He was commissioned in 1899, in the service of the Royal Irish Rifles.¹ He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1902.¹ He gained the rank of in 1902 in the 11th Hussars.¹ He gained the rank of in 1905 in the West African Frontier Force.¹ He gained the rank of Adjutant in 1911 in the Sussex Yeomanry.¹ He fought in the First World War, where he was wounded and mentioned in despatches.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1917.¹ He gained the rank of in 1923 in the 12th Royal Lancers.¹ He was commander of the 2nd Cavalry Brigade between 1927 and 1931.¹ He gained the rank of Brigadier in 1931.¹ He gained the rank of Major-General in 1935.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1936.¹ He fought in the Second World War between 1939 and 1942.¹

     Louise Henrietta Leconte was the daughter of Gustave Louis Leconte.¹ She married Maj.-Gen. John Blakiston-Houston, son of John Blakiston-Houston and Marian Gertrude Streatfeild, on 22 November 1910.¹ She died on 11 January 1952.¹
     From 22 November 1910, her married name became Blakiston-Houston.¹

     Gustave Louis Leconte lived at Port St. Ouen, France^G.¹

     Emma Millicent Coles was born circa 1915.² She was the daughter of George Frederick Coles.¹ She married Maj.-Gen. John Blakiston-Houston, son of John Blakiston-Houston and Marian Gertrude Streatfeild, on 20 May 1954.¹ She died on 12 July 2008 at Banbury Hospital, Banbury, Oxfordshire, England^G.²
     From 20 May 1954, her married name became Blakiston-Houston.¹

     George Frederick Coles lived at Shenington, Oxfordshire, England^G.¹

     Mary Charlotte Blakiston-Houston was the daughter of John Blakiston-Houston and Marian Gertrude Streatfeild.¹ She married Harry Scarlett, son of James William Scarlett and Anne Rhodes Williams Brown, on 6 August 1884.¹ She died on 9 September 1954.¹
     She was appointed Lady, League of Mercy.¹ From 6 August 1884, her married name became Scarlett.¹

     Harry Scarlett was born on 20 August 1857.² He was the son of James William Scarlett and Anne Rhodes Williams Brown.² He married Mary Charlotte Blakiston-Houston, daughter of John Blakiston-Houston and Marian Gertrude Streatfeild, on 6 August 1884.¹ He died on 28 February 1919 at age 61.¹
     He graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.)¹ He lived at West Firle, Sussex, England^G.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Sussex.²

     Annie Marian Blakiston-Houston was the daughter of John Blakiston-Houston and Marian Gertrude Streatfeild.¹ She died on 15 May 1951, unmarried.¹
     She was also known as Nina.¹

     Dora Blakiston-Houston was the daughter of John Blakiston-Houston and Marian Gertrude Streatfeild.¹ She married Air Vice-Marshal Francis Rowland Scarlett, son of Lt.-Col. William James Scarlett and Henrietta Catherine Low, on 2 February 1905.¹ She died on 13 February 1954.¹
     From 2 February 1905, her married name became Scarlett.¹

     Air Vice-Marshal Francis Rowland Scarlett was born on 18 May 1875.² He was the son of Lt.-Col. William James Scarlett and Henrietta Catherine Low.^1,2 He married Dora Blakiston-Houston, daughter of John Blakiston-Houston and Marian Gertrude Streatfeild, on 2 February 1905.¹ He died on 15 April 1934 at age 58.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)¹
