William Henry Gordon Christian1 
Among the 2nd wave of returnees from Norfolk in 1864. Died of heart trouble.
When he died, he left everything he had to his unofficially adopted ‘son’,
Floyd Hastings McCoy. During his later years, Gordon lived with another
single man, Dick Fairclough, who arrived on Pitcairn some years before and
stayed. Fairclough died in 1938.1

Harriet Christian1 
She was among the 2nd wave of returnees from Norfolk in 1864, although she had been ailing for some time before leaving Norfolk. After her death on board, at her mother’s request, her body was preserved for burial in the Pitcairn churchyard, by placing it in a barrel in the forepart of the ship.
It was an object of terror among the superstitious minds of the other children on board.1
