He was a mechanic.1
He had 8 children.
He was the driver of the public tractor and Pitcairn maintenance engineer in 1972, responsible also for the lighting plant. A childhood accident cost him the sight in one eye. After education on the island, he spent nine months in Fiji, and a year and a half in New Zealand acquiring mechanical skills. He spoke often of becoming an auto mechanic, and left the island for New Zealand in late 1972 or early 1973. (Ball: Pitcairn: Children of Mutiny.)1
