was transferred to the reserve after the war, and served in the occupation
forces until he was discharged in 1947.¹

     Janet Anne Lucy Nobbs was born on 2 August 1864 at Norfolk Island^G.¹ She was the daughter of Fletcher Christian Nobbs and Susan Quintal.¹ She married Peter Herbert Metcalfe, son of Wallace Metcalfe and Mary Bramall, on 14 November 1883.¹ She died on 27 June 1946 at age 81 at Sydney, New South Wales, Australia^G.¹
     Her married name became Metcalfe.¹ Janet and her daughters left Norfolk after the deaths of her two sons in
World War I.¹

     Peter Herbert Metcalfe was born in 1854 at Brockdish, Diss, Norfolk, England^G.¹ He was the son of Wallace Metcalfe and Mary Bramall.¹ He married Janet Anne Lucy Nobbs, daughter of Fletcher Christian Nobbs and Susan Quintal, on 14 November 1883.¹ He died on 18 April 1913 at Fanning Island^G.¹ He was buried at Norfolk Island^G.¹
     He was resident medical officer between 1882 and 1913 at Norfolk Island^G.¹ He lived at 43 Pine Street, Randwick, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia^G.² They lived in the family home called ‘Waveney’, which is in 1993 part of the Castaway Hotel complex. He died during a period when he agreed to relieve a doctor friend so that the friend could go home to visit his mother.¹

     Wallace Fletcher Metcalfe was born on 13 November 1884 at Norfolk Island^G.¹ He was the son of Peter Herbert Metcalfe and Janet Anne Lucy Nobbs.¹ He married Shirley Muriel Bagnall on 12 June 1912.¹ He died on 18 June 1966 at age 81 at Auckland, New Zealand^G.¹
     He was Sheep Farmer.¹ Educated at Wanganui Collegiate, New Zealand, and at St. Edward’s School,
Oxford, England. He served on numerous public bodies.¹

     Shirley Muriel Bagnall was born on 10 February 1884.¹ She married Wallace Fletcher Metcalfe, son of Peter Herbert Metcalfe and Janet Anne Lucy Nobbs, on 12 June 1912.¹ She died on 7 July 1968 at age 84 at Auckland, New Zealand^G.¹
     Her married name became Metcalfe.¹
