     Captain James FitzMaurice was born in 1789.1 He was the son of Harman FitzMaurice and Maria Evans.1 He married Harriett Thomas on 28 November 1814.1 He died on 10 September 1879 at Killeshin, County Carlow, IrelandG.1 He was buried on 13 September 1879 at Killeshin, County Carlow, IrelandG.1
     He was commissioned on 8 December 1800, in the service of the Royal Navy on board H.M.S. Ardent.1 He fought in the Battle of Copenhagen on 2 April 1801.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant on 18 November 1807, on board H.M.S. Carnation.1 On 3 October 1808 at Puerto RicoG he was severley wounded.1 He retired from the military in 1844.1
