     Emily Frances Valentine was born circa 1879.¹ She was the daughter of William James Valentine.¹ She married Major William Rickards Galwey, son of Andrew Knox Galwey and Charlotte Hillier Rickards, in 1909.¹ She died on 1 January 1967.¹
     From 1909, her married name became Galwey.¹

     William James Valentine was an assistant master at Portora Royal School, Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, Ireland^G.¹

     Major John Rickards Galwey was born on 7 July 1910.¹ He was the son of Major William Rickards Galwey and Emily Frances Valentine.¹ He married, firstly, Margaret Louise Maitland, daughter of Reginald Ferdinando Maitland, on 26 June 1932.¹ He and Margaret Louise Maitland were divorced before 1949.¹ He married, secondly, Audrey Lane, daughter of William Lane, on 2 January 1951.¹ He died in November 1997 at age 87 at Cheshire, England.²
     He was educated at Shrewsbury School, Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England^G.¹ He was educated at London University, London, England^G.¹ He fought in the Second World War, in the King’s African Rifles.¹ He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers.¹ He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1969.¹ He lived in 1976 at 8 Moorhouse Close, Upton-by-Chester, Cheshire, England^G.¹

     Margaret Louise Maitland is the daughter of Reginald Ferdinando Maitland.¹ She married Major John Rickards Galwey, son of Major William Rickards Galwey and Emily Frances Valentine, on 26 June 1932.¹ She and Major John Rickards Galwey were divorced before 1949.¹
     From 26 June 1932, her married name became Galwey.¹
