Randal Roberts1
On 22 June 1775 the Ulster King of Arms allowed him the arms appearing on the seal of his grandfather, and stated he was lawfully descended in a direct line from Sir Thomas Roberts, Bt. of Glassenbury, Kent.5 He styled himself ‘Sir Randal Roberts, Bt.2‘ He lived at Brightfieldstown, County Cork, IrelandG.1 Jane, Duchess of Saint Albans, daughter and heiress of Sir Walter Roberts, 6th and it was assumed for a time (and may in fact be the case) last Bt, of Glassenbury, accepted his statement of a connection between the Roberts of Brightfieldstown and her own family, and willed the Glassenbury estate to his grandson, Thomas Walton Roberts.2
