     Rear-Admiral Edward Galwey was the son of Edward Galwey and Jane Westropp.¹ He died on 9 August 1844, unmarried.¹
     He was of the Royal Navy in 1786.¹ He gained the rank of First Lieutenant, on H.M.S. Vanguard, serving under Nelson.¹ He gained the rank of Commander in 1798.¹ He fought in the Battle of the Nile on 7 August 1798.¹ He gained the rank of Rear-Admiral of the White in 1837.¹ He lived at Lota, County Cork, Ireland^G.¹

     William Galwey was the son of Edward Galwey and Jane Westropp.¹ He married Ann Norcott, daughter of James Norcott and Jane Roberts, on 24 May 1803.¹ He died on 4 December 1865.¹
     He was Freeman of Limerick on 28 June 1819.¹ He was Attorney-at-Law.¹ He lived at Lota, County Cork, Ireland^G.¹

     Ann Norcott was the daughter of James Norcott and Jane Roberts.¹ She married William Galwey, son of Edward Galwey and Jane Westropp, on 24 May 1803.¹ She died on 8 August 1832.¹
     From 24 May 1803, her married name became Galwey.¹

     James Norcott married Jane Roberts, daughter of Sir Thomas Roberts, 1st Bt..
     He lived at Springfield, County Cork, Ireland^G.¹

     Jane Roberts is the daughter of Sir Thomas Roberts, 1st Bt.¹ She married James Norcott.
     Her married name became Norcott.¹

     Sir Thomas Roberts, 1st Bt. was born on 27 May 1738.² He was the son of Randal Roberts and Martha Westropp.^3,4 He married, firstly, Amy Johnson, daughter of William Johnson, on 24 September 1765.² He married, secondly, Ann Walton, daughter of Thomas Walton, on 23 December 1806.² He died in 1817.²
     He was created 1st Baronet Roberts, of Glassenbury Kent, of Brightfieldstown, co. Cork and of the City of Cork [U.K.] on 20 September 1809.² He lived at Brightfieldstown, County Cork, Ireland^G.³

     Edward Galwey was born on 25 February 1804.¹ He was the son of William Galwey and Ann Norcott.¹ He married, secondly, Sophia Stewart, daughter of Reverend Hugh Stewart.¹ He married, firstly, Cornelia Matilda St. Leger, daughter of Heyward St. Leger and Matilda Rogers, on 27 November 1833.¹ He died on 12 November 1873 at age 69.¹
     He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland^G, in 1825 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He was admitted to King’s Inn, Dublin in 1827 entitled to practise as a Barrister-at-Law.¹ He lived at Lota, County Cork, Ireland^G.¹
