     He gained the rank of Captain in 1735 in the Spanish Army.³ He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Esmonde, of Ballynastragh, co. Wexford [I., 1629] on 20 February 1739.³

     He lived at Westcourt, County Kilkenny, Ireland.⁴
