Francis Boyle, 1st Viscount Shannon1 
Francis Boyle, 1st Viscount Shannon also went by the nick-name of Francis ‘the Just’.1 He was educated between October 1635 and 1639 at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.3 He fought in the Battle of Liscarrol on 3 September 1642, where he distinguished himself against the rebels.3 He was created 1st Viscount Shannon, co. Limerick [Ireland] on 6 September 1660.1 He was Captain of the Troop of Horse between 28 July 1662 and 1685.3 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Ireland]2 He held the office of Governor of County Cork on 20 August 1672.2 He lived at Shannon Park, County Cork, IrelandG.3

Hon. Robert Boyle1

Hon. Robert Boyle was born on 25 January 1626/27.3 He was the son of Richard Boyle, 1st Earl of Cork and Catherine Fenton.1 He died on 30 December 1691 at age 64.3
Hon. Robert Boyle also went by the nick-name of Robert ‘the Philosopher’.1 He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.3 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.) in 1660 and founding member.3 He was a chemist, and proponent of Boyle’s Law.3 He wrote the book The Sceptical Chymist, published 1661.3 He held the office of Governor of the New England Company between 1662 and 1691, and founding member.3 He wrote the book Occasional Refelctions on Several Subjects, published 1665.3 He wrote the book The Origin of Forms and Qualities, published 1666.3 He wrote the book The Martyrdom of Theodora and Didymus, published 1687, a romance.3 He lived at Stalbridge, Dorset, EnglandG.3 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.4

She held the office of Lady of the Bedchamber to the Queen Dowager, Henrietta Maria.1 From 26 December 1639, her married name became Boyle.1 She was created 1st Countess of Guildford, co. Surrey [England, for life] on 14 July 1660.1
