Elizabeth Throckmorton1

Elizabeth Throckmorton was born in 1565.2 She was the daughter of Sir Nicholas Throckmorton and Anne Carew.1 She married Sir Walter Raleigh, son of Walter Raleigh and Katherine Champernowne, in 1593.1 She died in 1647.2
From 1593, her married name became Raleigh.1

Sir Walter Raleigh was born in 1552 at Hayes Barton, Devon, England.1 He was the son of Walter Raleigh and Katherine Champernowne.3 He married Elizabeth Throckmorton, daughter of Sir Nicholas Throckmorton and Anne Carew, in 1593.1 He died on 29 October 1618, beheaded.1
In 1584 his expeditions took possession of Virginia.4 He was appointed Knight on 6 January 1585.4 In 1595 he lead the Expedition to Guiana.4 He gained the rank of Rear Admiral in 1596 in the Royal Navy, at the sacking of Cadiz.4

Ralph Sheldon was born in 1537.3 He was the son of William Sheldon and Mary Willington.3 He married, secondly, Jane West, daughter of William West, 1st Baron Delaware.3 He married, firstly, Anne Throckmorton, daughter of Sir Robert Throckmorton and Muriel Berkeley, in 1557.1 He died on 31 March 1613.3
He lived at Beoley, Worcestershire, EnglandG.4
