     Captain John Blackwell lived at Mortlake, Surrey, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in 1650 in the Parliamentary Army.¹ He held the office of Governor of Pennsylvania in 1688.¹

     Elizabeth Herne was born on 24 May 1678.¹ She was the daughter of Sir Joseph Herne and Elizabeth Frederick.¹ She was baptised on 11 June 1678 at St. Olv’s, Old Jewry, London, England^G.¹ She married Sir Lambert Blackwell, 1st Bt., son of Captain John Blackwell and Elizabeth Smithsby, before February 1697/98.¹ She died on 12 October 1729 at age 51.¹
     From before February 1697/98, her married name became Blackwell.¹

     Sir Joseph Herne was baptised in 1639.² He married Elizabeth Frederick, daughter of Sir John Frederick and Mary Rouse.² He died in 1699.²
     He was a merchant at London, England^G.¹ He held the office of Alderman of London.²

     Elizabeth Frederick is the daughter of Sir John Frederick and Mary Rouse.^1,2 She married Sir Joseph Herne.²
     Her married name became Herne.²

     William Yonge was the son of William Yonge and Sarah Herne.¹ He died after 1763.¹

     Sir Charles Blackwell, 2nd Bt. was born circa 1700.¹ He was the son of Sir Lambert Blackwell, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Herne.¹ He married Anne Clayton, daughter of Sir William Clayton, 1st Bt. and Martha Kenrick, before 1721.¹ He died on 18 July 1741.¹ He died intestate and his estate was administered on 5 August 1741.¹
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Blackwell, of Sprowston Hall, co. Norfolk [G.B., 1718] on 27 October 1727.¹

     Anne Clayton was baptised on 29 November 1709 at St. Olave, Hart Street, London, England.² She was the daughter of Sir William Clayton, 1st Bt. and Martha Kenrick.¹ She married, firstly, Sir Charles Blackwell, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Lambert Blackwell, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Herne, before 1721.¹ She married, secondly, Rt. Rev. John Thomas on 19 August 1742 at Chapel Royal, Whitehall, London, England^G.¹ She died on 7 July 1772 at age 62.¹
     From before 1721, her married name became Blackwell.¹ From 19 August 1742, her married name became Thomas.¹

     Rt. Rev. John Thomas married, firstly, Anne Clayton, daughter of Sir William Clayton, 1st Bt. and Martha Kenrick, on 19 August 1742 at Chapel Royal, Whitehall, London, England^G.¹ He died on 22 August 1793.¹
     He was the Rector in 1742 at Bletchingley, Surrey, England^G.¹ He held the office of Dean of Westminster in 1768.¹ He held the office of Bishop of Rochester between 1774 and 1793.¹ He graduated with a Doctor of Civil Laws (D.C.L.)¹
