     Sir Derek James Bibby, 2nd Bt. was born on 29 June 1922.¹ He was the son of Sir Arthur Harold Bibby, 1st Bt. and Marjorie Guthrie Williamson.² He married Christine Maud Okell, daughter of Rt. Rev. Frank Jackson Okell, on 11 January 1961.¹ He died on 9 October 2002 at age 80 at Willaston Grange, Willaston, Neston, Cheshire, England^G, from self-poisoning with aluminium phosphate.^1,3

     Sir Arthur Harold Bibby, 1st Bt. was born on 18 February 1889.¹ He was the son of Arthur Wilson Bibby and Beatrice Eveline Heald.¹ He married Marjorie Guthrie Williamson, daughter of Charles James Williamson and Quenelda Mary Clegg, on 26 May 1920.¹ He died on 7 March 1986 at age 97.²

     Arthur Wilson Bibby was born on 10 February 1846.¹ He was the son of Reverend Thomas Bibby and Elizabeth Wilson.¹ He married Beatrice Eveline Heald, daughter of Thomas Heald, on 7 October 1885. He died on 15 December 1935 at age 89.¹
     He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, England^G.¹ He was a partner in Bibby Brothers, shipowners and bankers.¹ He was a director of North and South Wales Bank of Maritime Insurance.¹ He was a director of Warner Barnes & Company.¹ He was a director of Canada Shipping.¹ He was chairman of Pacific Steam Navigation Company Ltd.¹ He lived at Hill Foot, Woolton, Liverpool, Lancashire, England^G.¹

     Reverend Thomas Bibby was born on 7 March 1812.¹ He was the son of John Bibby and Mary Mellard.² He married Elizabeth Wilson, daughter of Thomas Wilson, on 21 September 1843. He died on 3 September 1883 at age 71.¹
     He graduated from Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹

     John Bibby was baptised on 19 February 1775.¹ He married Mary Mellard, daughter of Joseph Mellard, on 17 August 1805. He died on 17 July 1840 at age 65.¹
     He was founder of a shipbroking firm, and took a share in the galliot Dove in 1801.¹ In 1807 he had shares in seven ships, which became the Bibby Line, specialising in the Burma/Ceylon trade.¹ He lived at Liverpool, Lancashire, England^G.¹ He lived at Mount Pleasant, Linacre, Lancashire, England^G.¹

     Mary Mellard was the daughter of Joseph Mellard.¹ She married John Bibby on 17 August 1805. She died on 17 June 1819.¹
     From 17 August 1805, her married name became Bibby.¹

     Joseph Mellard held the office of Mayor of Newcastle-under-Lyme in 1783.¹
