     Mary Alice Kennedy was born on 28 April 1846.² She was the daughter of Lord Gilbert Kennedy and Margaret Baird.¹ She married Alfred John Howard, son of Frederick John Howard and Lady Fanny Cavendish, on 6 May 1876.¹ She died on 14 May 1942 at age 96.¹
     Her married name became Howard.

     Captain John Gilbert Kennedy was born on 1 May 1854.¹ He was the son of Lord Gilbert Kennedy and Margaret Baird.¹ He married Henrietta Maria Louise Achenbach, daughter of Oswald Achenbach, on 11 April 1882.¹ He died on 1 July 1923 at age 69.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 11th Royal Prissuan Hussars.¹ He fought in the Boer War between 1900 and 1902, where he won two medals and five clasps.¹

     Captain William Gilbert Howard was born on 12 March 1877.¹ He was the son of Alfred John Howard and Mary Alice Kennedy.² He married Hon. Agnes Caroline Sophia Parnell, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Henry Parnell, 4th Baron Congleton and Elizabeth Peter Dove, on 19 December 1912.¹ He died on 18 January 1960 at age 82.¹
     He fought in the First World War.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.¹ He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1919.¹ He lived at The Oast House, Stonegate, Sussex, England^G.²

     Hon. Agnes Caroline Sophia Parnell was born on 23 February 1889.² She was the daughter of Maj.-Gen. Henry Parnell, 4th Baron Congleton and Elizabeth Peter Dove.² She married Captain William Gilbert Howard, son of Alfred John Howard and Mary Alice Kennedy, on 19 December 1912.¹ She died on 28 December 1968 at age 79.²
     Her married name became Howard. She held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Sussex.²

     Maj.-Gen. Henry Parnell, 4th Baron Congleton was born on 10 July 1839.¹ He was the son of Henry William Parnell, 3rd Baron Congleton and Sophia Bligh.² He married Elizabeth Peter Dove, daughter of Dugald Dove, on 17 June 1885.¹ He died on 12 November 1906 at age 67.¹
     He fought in the Crimean War, after the fall of Sebastopol.¹ He was Aide-de-Camp to General Officer Commanding Windward and Leeward Islands between 1864 and 1866.¹ He was commander of the 2nd Battalion, The Buffs.¹ He fought in the Zulu War, including the Battle of Inyezane and occupation of Ekowe.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1879.¹ He gained the rank of Major-General.¹ He was Commandant of the Straits Settlements between 1880 and 1882.¹ He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Parnell, of Rathleague, Queen’s Co. [I., 1766] on 10 October 1890.¹ He succeeded as the 4th Baron Congleton, of Congleton, co. Chester [U.K., 1841] on 10 October 1890.¹ He was Commandant of the Infantry Brigade, Malta between 1895 and 1902.¹

     Lt.-Col. Frederick Henry Howard was born on 25 February 1915 at Steyning, Sussex, England.^1,2 He was the son of Captain William Gilbert Howard and Hon. Agnes Caroline Sophia Parnell.³ He married, firstly, Estelle Georgette Sharpe, daughter of Captain John Sharpe, on 9 November.¹ He and Estelle Georgette Sharpe were divorced in 1946.¹ He married, secondly, Hon. Jean Margaret Parnell, daughter of John Brooke Molesworth Parnell, 6th Baron Congleton and Hon. Edith Mary Palmer Howard, on 29 November 1952.¹ He died on 6 May 2000 at age 85 at Mull, Argyllshire, Scotland.²
     He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1936 and bar.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 3rd King’s Own Hussars.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1946.¹ He lived at Isle of Ulva, Aros, Mull, Argyllshire, Scotland^G.¹

     Estelle Georgette Sharpe is the daughter of Captain John Sharpe.¹ She married Lt.-Col. Frederick Henry Howard, son of Captain William Gilbert Howard and Hon. Agnes Caroline Sophia Parnell, on 9 November.² She and Lt.-Col. Frederick Henry Howard were divorced in 1946.²
     Her married name became Howard.

     Hon. Jean Margaret Parnell was born on 4 June 1922.² She is the daughter of John Brooke Molesworth Parnell, 6th Baron Congleton and Hon. Edith Mary Palmer Howard.² She married Lt.-Col. Frederick Henry Howard, son of Captain William Gilbert Howard and Hon. Agnes Caroline Sophia Parnell, on 29 November 1952.¹
     Her married name became Howard. She lived in 2003 at Isle of Ulva, Aros, Mull, Argyllshire, Scotland^G.²

     John Brooke Molesworth Parnell, 6th Baron Congleton was born on 16 May 1892.¹ He was the son of Maj.-Gen. Henry Parnell, 4th Baron Congleton and Elizabeth Peter Dove.² He married Hon. Edith Mary Palmer Howard, daughter of Robert Jared Bliss Howard and Margaret Charlotte Smith, Baroness Strathcona and Mount Royal, on 6 April 1918.¹ He died on 21 December 1932 at age 40.¹
     He was educated at Royal Naval College, Osborne, Isle of Wight, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in the Royal Navy (Emergency List.)¹ He succeeded as the 6th Baron Congleton, of Congleton, co. Chester [U.K., 1841] on 10 November 1914.¹ He succeeded as the 9th Baronet Parnell, of Rathleague, Queen’s Co. [I., 1766] on 10 November 1914.¹ He graduated from McGill University, Montreal, Quebec, Canada^G, in 1921 with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)¹ He was registered as a Member, Institution of Mechanical Engineers (M.I.M.E.)¹

     John William Howard was born on 18 January 1917 at St. Budeaux, Devon, England.^1,2 He was the son of Captain William Gilbert Howard and Hon. Agnes Caroline Sophia Parnell.³ He married Elizabeth Bligh Veasey, daughter of Captain Robert Francis Veasey and Eva Frances Jesse Cooper, on 15 October 1949.¹ He died on 16 September 1988 at age 71.^1,2
     He was educated at Gresham’s School, Holt, Norfolk, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the 5th King’s African Rifles.¹ He fought in the Second World War, in Abyssinia and Madagascar, and was mentioned in despatches twice.¹ He was with the Colonial Admininistation Service between 1939 and 1963 at Kenya^G.¹ He graduated from Magdalene College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, in 1946 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He was with the Home Civil Service between 1963 and 1977.¹
