     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He graduated from Corpus Christi College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, in 1948 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He graduated from Corpus Christi College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, in 1955 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He was a director of Morgan Grenfell & Company Ltd between 1964 and 1970.¹ He was appointed Fellow, Chartered Institute of Secretaries (F.C.I.S.)¹ He was a member of the Monopolies and Mergers Commission between 1973 and 1979.¹ He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Bernard, of Snakemoor, Southampton [U.K., 1954] on 26 November 1975.¹ He was a director of Italian International Bank plc between 1978 and 1989.¹ He lived in 2003 at 106 Cheyne Walk, London, England^G.¹

     Sheila Mary Robey is the daughter of Arthur Gordon Robey.¹ She married, firstly, Sir Dallas Bernard, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Dallas Gerald Mercer Bernard, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Addis, on 3 July 1959.¹ She and Sir Dallas Bernard, 2nd Bt. were divorced in 1979.¹ She married, secondly, Hugo Robson on 13 November 2004.²
