     Jean Bennet was the daughter of Sir William Bennet, 2nd Bt. and Elizabeth Hay.1 She married William Nisbet of Dirleton, son of Alexander Nisbet and Katherine Porterfield, on 29 March 1688.1
     She inherited the estates of Grubet, and sold them to the family of the Marquess of Tweeddale.1 From 29 March 1688, her married name became Nisbet.1

     William Nisbet of Dirleton was born circa 1666.2 He was the son of Alexander Nisbet and Katherine Porterfield.2 He married Jean Bennet, daughter of Sir William Bennet, 2nd Bt. and Elizabeth Hay, on 29 March 1688.3
     He graduated from Edinburgh University, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland, in 1683 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)2 At Dirleton, East Lothian, ScotlandG, (an unknown value.)1

     Sir George Bennett, 1st Bt. was born before 1653. He was the son of Reverend William Bennett.1 He died circa 1700, without male issue.1
     He was created 1st Baronet Bennett, in the shire of Fife [Scotland] on 28 July 1671.1 He gained the rank of officer in the army of Cassimor, King of Poland.1 He lived in 1690 at PolandG.1
     On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.1
