He was admitted to Gray’s Inn on 3 February 1643/44.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Cambridgeshire from 1652 to 1653.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Bennet, of Baberham, co. Cambridge [E., 1660] in June 1667.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Cambridgeshire between 1679 and 1693.1 His last will was dated 3 December 1690.
