     Catharine Gostlin was the daughter of Sir William Gostlin.¹ She married Sir Henry Bendish, 4th Bt., son of Sir John Bendish, 3rd Bt. and Martha Betteson, in February 1706/7 at St. Paul’s Cathedral, The City, London, England^G.¹ She died circa 1738.¹ She died intestate and her estate was administered to her brother, Charles Gostlin on 20 March 1738/39.¹
     From February 1706/7, her married name became Bendish.¹

     Sir William Gostlin lived at Ealing, London, England^G.¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of London from 1684 to 1685.¹

     Charles Gostlin is the son of Sir William Gostlin.¹

     William Benn was a quilting manufacturer at Hyde, Cheshire, England^G.¹

     Reverend Julius Benn was born circa 1826.¹ He was the son of William Benn.¹ He married Ann Taylor, daughter of William Taylor, on 13 February 1850.¹ He was murdered on 4 March 1883 at Matlock, Derbyshire, England^G, by William Rutherford Benn, battered to death with a chamberpot.^1,2
     He was a Congregational Minister at London, England^G.¹

     Ann Taylor was the daughter of William Taylor.¹ She married Reverend Julius Benn, son of William Benn, on 13 February 1850.¹ She died on 30 December 1890.¹
     From 13 February 1850, her married name became Benn.¹

     Sir John Williams Benn, 1st Bt. was born on 13 November 1850.¹ He was the son of Reverend Julius Benn and Ann Taylor.¹ He married Elizabeth Pickston, daughter of John Pickston, on 1 July 1874.¹ He died on 10 April 1922 at age 71.¹
     He was a director of Benn Brothers, Publishers at London, England^G.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Tower Hamlets, St. George Division between 1892 and 1895.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of London.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Essex.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for London.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Devonport between 1904 and 1910.¹ He held the office of Chairman of London City Council from 1904 to 1905.¹ He was appointed Knight in 1906.¹ He was created 1st Baronet Benn, of Old Knoll, Lewisham [U.K.] on 15 July 1914.¹

     Elizabeth Pickston was the daughter of John Pickston.¹ She married Sir John Williams Benn, 1st Bt., son of Reverend Julius Benn and Ann Taylor, on 1 July 1874.¹ She died on 18 March 1928.¹
     From 1 July 1874, her married name became Benn.¹
