     Thomas Bateson was born in 1736.² He was the son of Richard Bateson and Sarah McClintock.¹ He married, secondly, Margaret Douglas, daughter of Reverend Joseph Douglas.¹ He died after 1789.¹
     He lived at Londonderry, County Londonderry, Ireland^G.¹

     Margaret Douglas is the daughter of Reverend Joseph Douglas.¹ She married Thomas Bateson, son of Richard Bateson and Sarah McClintock.¹
     Her married name became Bateson.¹

     Reverend Joseph Douglas lived at County Antrim, Ireland^G.¹

     Sir Robert Bateson, 2nd Bt. was born circa 1793.¹ He was the son of Thomas Bateson and Margaret Douglas.¹ He married Elizabeth Hammond, daughter of Anthony Hammond and Jane Close, in February 1819.¹ He died on 15 April 1870 at Castruse, County Donegal, Ireland^G, without issue.¹
     He held the office of Sheriff of County Donegal in 1822.¹ He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Bateson-Harvey, of Killoquin, co. Antrim [G.B., 1789] on 5 June 1825.¹ He lived at Castruse, County Donegal, Ireland^G.¹
     On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.¹

     Elizabeth Hammond was the daughter of Anthony Hammond and Jane Close.¹ She married Sir Robert Bateson, 2nd Bt., son of Thomas Bateson and Margaret Douglas, in February 1819.¹ She died in 1867.¹
     From February 1819, her married name became Bateson.¹

     Anthony Hammond lived at Hutton Bonville, Yorkshire, England^G.¹

     Jane Close is the daughter of John Close.¹
