Richard Bateson1

     Richard Bateson was born at Garstang, Lancashire, EnglandG.1 He was the son of Robert Bateson.2 He married, firstly, Sarah McClintock, daughter of John McClintock and Susannah Maria Chambers, before 1740.1 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Harvey, daughter of Robert Harvey, on 19 August 1742 at Derry Cathedral, Templemore, County Londonderry, IrelandG.1 He was also reported to have been married on 16 October 1740.3 He died in November 1766 at Londonderry, County Londonderry, IrelandG.1
     He settled in Londonderry, and bought estates in Counties Antrim, Donegal and Tyrone.3 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Donegal in 1761.3

     Elizabeth Harvey was born circa 1729.1 She was the daughter of Robert Harvey.1 She married Richard Bateson, son of Robert Bateson, on 19 August 1742 at Derry Cathedral, Templemore, County Londonderry, IrelandG.1 She was also reported to have been married on 16 October 1740.2 She died on 3 January 1789.1 She was also reported to have died in 1787.2 She was buried at Langley, Buckinghamshire, EnglandG.1
     From 19 August 1742, her married name became Bateson.1
