     Sir Charles Barrington, 5th Bt. was born after 1670.¹ He was the son of Thomas Barrington and Lady Anne Rich.¹ He married, firstly, Bridget Monson, daughter of Sir John Monson and Judith Pelham, on 20 April 1693 at St. Bride’s, Fleet Street, London, England^G.¹ He and Anna Marie FitzWilliam obtained a marriage license on 23 May 1700.¹ He died on 29 January 1714/15, without issue.¹ He was buried at Hatfield Broadoak, Essex, England^G.¹ His will (dated 2 July 1714) was proven (by probate) in December 1715.¹
     He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Barrington, of Barrington Hall [in Hatfield Broadoak], co. Essex [E., 1611] on 26 November 1691.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Essex between February 1694 and 1715.¹ He held the office of Vice-Admiral of Essex.¹
     Wotton’s Baronetage recrds that he was “a fast friend of the Church and Monarchy, and a courteous affable gentleman, as much esteemed as any in the county he lived in, and died generally lamented by all his friends.”¹

     Bridget Monson was born circa 1674.¹ She was the daughter of Sir John Monson and Judith Pelham.¹ She married Sir Charles Barrington, 5th Bt., son of Thomas Barrington and Lady Anne Rich, on 20 April 1693 at St. Bride’s, Fleet Street, London, England^G.¹ She died in December 1699.¹
     From 20 April 1693, her married name became Barrington.¹

     Sir John Monson was the son of Sir John Monson, 2nd Bt. and Ursula Oxenbridge.^2,3 He married Judith Pelham, daughter of Sir Thomas Pelham, 2nd Bt. and Mary Wilbraham, on 7 June 1647.³ He died in 1674.²
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Lincoln in 1660.¹

     Judith Pelham was the daughter of Sir Thomas Pelham, 2nd Bt. and Mary Wilbraham.^1,3 She married Sir John Monson, son of Sir John Monson, 2nd Bt. and Ursula Oxenbridge, on 7 June 1647.⁴
     From 7 June 1647, her married name became Monson.

     Anna Marie FitzWilliam was born circa 1677.¹ She was the daughter of William Fitzwilliam, 1st Earl Fitzwilliam and Anne Cremor.¹ She and Sir Charles Barrington, 5th Bt. obtained a marriage license on 23 May 1700.¹ She died in July 1717 at Bath, Somerset, England^G.¹ She was buried at Marham, Northamptonshire, England^G.¹ She died intestate and her estate was administered on 7 August 1717.¹
     From 23 May 1700, her married name became Barrington.¹

     Anne Barrington was born in 1675.² She was the daughter of Thomas Barrington and Lady Anne Rich.¹ She married Charles Shales on 17 November 1698 at Temple Church, London, England.³ She died on 17 November 1729.^4,2
     From 17 November 1698, her married name became Shales.¹

     Charles Shales was born in 1670.² He married Anne Barrington, daughter of Thomas Barrington and Lady Anne Rich, on 17 November 1698 at Temple Church, London, England.³ He died in 1734.⁴
     He was goldsmith to Queen Anne.¹

     John Barrington is the son of Sir John Barrington, 3rd Bt. and Dorothy Lytton.¹ He married Elizabeth Hawkins, daughter of Edward Hawkins.¹
     He lived at Dunmow Park, Essex, England^G.¹

     Elizabeth Hawkins is the daughter of Edward Hawkins.¹ She married John Barrington, son of Sir John Barrington, 3rd Bt. and Dorothy Lytton.¹
     Her married name became Barrington.¹

     Edward Hawkins lived at Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire, England^G.¹
