     Charles Barclay of that Ilk was born on 18 October 1826.1 He was the son of James Barclay of Knockleith and Templeland and Mary Anne Barclay.1 He married Margaret Martin, daughter of Thomas Martin and Elizabeth Clelland Barclay, in June 1857.1 He died on 16 August 1902 at age 75.1
     He was recognised by Lord Lyon King of Arms, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Court in 1901.1

     Margaret Martin was born on 6 October 1820.2 She was the daughter of Thomas Martin and Elizabeth Clelland Barclay.1 She was baptised on 17 October 1820 at Gorbals, Lanarkshire, Scotland.2 She married Charles Barclay of that Ilk, son of James Barclay of Knockleith and Templeland and Mary Anne Barclay, in June 1857.1
     From June 1857, her married name became Barclay.1
