Monaghan [I., 1621] on 19 March 1732/33.1 He was educated at St. John’s College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG.1 He was the Rector in 1739 at Muckhoe, Clogher, County Tyrone, IrelandG.1 He held the office of Prebendary of Derry in 1740.1 He was the Rector in 1740 at Conubar, Londonderry, County Londonderry, IrelandG.1 He held the office of Dean of Killaloe from 1750 to 1761.1

Monaghan [I., 1621] on 29 September 1761.1 He held the office of Grand Master of the Freemasons between 1764 and 1767.1 He gained the rank of Major-General in 1765.1 He was Colonel of the 38th Foot between 1766 and 1775.1 He held the office of Grand Master of the Freemasons [Ireland] in 1768.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General in 1772.1
