     He gained the rank of officer in the Royal Engineers.¹

     Cecelia Anne Benney was born on 14 October 1952.¹ She is the daughter of John Kenneth Benney and Susan Aykroyd.¹

     Sally Mary Aykroyd was born on 3 August 1934.¹ She was the daughter of Colonel Harold Hammond Aykroyd and Nina Marguerite Hulse.¹ She married Christopher Boyd Stoddart, son of Frank Boyd Stoddart, on 9 July 1960.¹ She died on 17 December 2012 at age 78.²
