     Sir William Ashburnham, 5th Bt. was born on 5 March 1738/39.¹ He was the son of Reverend Sir William Ashburnham, 4th Bt. and Margaret Pelham.¹ He was baptised on 29 March 1739 at St. Anne’s, Soho, London, England^G.¹ He married Alicia Woodgate, daughter of Reverend Francis Woodgate, in April 1766 at St. Clement Danes Church, The Strand, London, England^G.¹ He died on 21 August 1823 at age 84 at Broomham, Sussex, England^G.¹ His will was proven (by probate) in 1824.¹
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Hastings between 1761 and 1774.¹ He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Ashburnham, of Bromham [in Guestling], Sussex [E., 1661] on 4 September 1797.¹ He held the office of Sheriff of Sussex between 1802 and 1803.¹ He lived at Broomham, Sussex, England^G.¹

     Alicia Woodgate was the daughter of Reverend Francis Woodgate.¹ She married Sir William Ashburnham, 5th Bt., son of Reverend Sir William Ashburnham, 4th Bt. and Margaret Pelham, in April 1766 at St. Clement Danes Church, The Strand, London, England^G.¹ She died on 10 January 1777.¹ She was buried on 18 January 1777 at Guestling, Sussex, England^G.¹
     From April 1766, her married name became Ashburnham.¹

     Reverend Francis Woodgate was the Rector at Mountfield, Sussex, England^G.¹

     Sir William Ashburnham, 6th Bt. was born on 21 June 1769 at Scotland Yard, Westminster, London, England^G.¹ He was the son of Sir William Ashburnham, 5th Bt. and Alicia Woodgate.¹ He married Juliana Humphrey, daughter of Reverend William Humphrey, on 7 July 1825.¹ He died on 23 March 1843 at age 73 at Broomham, Sussex, England^G, without issue.¹ His will was proven (by probate) in March 1844.¹
     He succeeded as the 6th Baronet Ashburnham, of Bromham [in Guestling], Sussex [E., 1661] on 21 August 1823.¹

     Juliana Humphrey was the daughter of Reverend William Humphrey.¹ She married Sir William Ashburnham, 6th Bt., son of Sir William Ashburnham, 5th Bt. and Alicia Woodgate, on 7 July 1825.¹ She died on 22 February 1865 at Broomham, Sussex, England^G.¹
