     Sir John Armytage, 2nd Bt. was born on 15 December 1629.¹ He was the son of Sir Francis Armytage, 1st Bt. and Catherine Danby.¹ He married Margaret Thornhill, daughter of Thomas Thornhill and Ann Trigot, before 1651.¹ He died circa March 1676/77.¹ He was buried on 9 March 1676/77.²
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Armytage, of Kirklees [in the parish of Hartshead], co. York [E., 1641] in June 1644.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Troop of Volunteer Horse.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)² He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)² He held the office of Sheriff of Yorkshire from 1668 to 1669.¹

     Margaret Thornhill was baptised on 1 February 1633/34 at Elland, Yorkshire, England^G.¹ She was the daughter of Thomas Thornhill and Ann Trigot.¹ She married Sir John Armytage, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Francis Armytage, 1st Bt. and Catherine Danby, before 1651.¹ She died in February 1695.¹ She was buried on 10 February 1695 at Hartshead, Yorkshire, England^G.¹
     From before 1651, her married name became Armytage.¹

     Thomas Thornhill lived at Fixby, Yorkshire, England^G.¹

     Ann Trigot is the daughter of Thomas Trigot.¹

     Sir Thomas Armytage, 3rd Bt. was born on 10 May 1652 at Hartshead, Yorkshire, England^G.¹ He was the son of Sir John Armytage, 2nd Bt. and Margaret Thornhill.¹ He died between 28 February 1694 and 26 May 1694, unmarried.¹ He was buried on 26 May 1694 at York, Yorkshire, England^G.¹
     He matriculated at University College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, on 19 December 1668.¹ He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Armytage, of Kirklees [in the parish of Hartshead], co. York [E., 1641] in March 1676/77.¹ His last will was dated 23 February 1693/94.

     Sir John Armytage, 4th Bt. was baptised on 14 April 1653 at Hartshead, Yorkshire, England^G.¹ She was the daughter of Sir John Armytage, 2nd Bt. and Margaret Thornhill.¹ She died on 2 December 1732 at age 79, unmarried.¹ She was buried on 7 December 1732 at Hartshead, Yorkshire, England^G.¹ Her will was proven (by probate) on 22 March 1732/33 at York, Yorkshire, England^G.¹
     She succeeded as the 4th Baronet Armytage, of Kirklees [in the parish of Hartshead], co. York [E., 1641] circa May 1694.¹ Her last will was dated 17 April 1732.

     Sir George Armytage, 5th Bt. was baptised on 23 August 1660 at Hartshead, Yorkshire, England^G.¹ He was the son of Sir John Armytage, 2nd Bt. and Margaret Thornhill.¹ He died in April 1736 at age 75, unmarried.¹ He was buried on 24 April 1736 at Hartshead, Yorkshire, England^G.¹
     He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Armytage, of Kirklees [in the parish of Hartshead], co. York [E., 1641] on 2 December 1732.¹

     Francis Armytage was born on 3 January 1631/32 at Hartshead, Yorkshire, England^G.¹ He was the son of Sir Francis Armytage, 1st Bt. and Catherine Danby.¹ He married Mary Trappes, daughter of Robert Trappes.¹ He died between November 1695 and October 1728.¹
     He lived at South Kirkby, Yorkshire, England^G.¹
