     Captain Ernest Kennaway Arbuthnot was born on 3 September 1876.¹ He was the son of Major Archibald Ernest Arbuthnot and Anne Elizabeth Ball.¹ He married, firstly, Edith Elizabeth Greene, daughter of Richard Bentley Greene, on 1 June 1910.¹ He married, secondly, Gladys Mann, daughter of William Butland Mann, on 15 January 1920.¹ He died on 12 June 1945 at age 68.¹
     He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches four times.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1917.¹ He held the office of Chief Constable of Oxfordshire in 1921.¹

     Edith Elizabeth Greene was the daughter of Richard Bentley Greene.¹ She married Captain Ernest Kennaway Arbuthnot, son of Major Archibald Ernest Arbuthnot and Anne Elizabeth Ball, on 1 June 1910.¹ She died on 11 September 1917.¹
     She was an actress.¹ She was also known as Evie.¹ From 1 June 1910, her married name became Arbuthnot.¹

     Richard Bentley Greene lived at Southsea, Hampshire, England^G.¹

     Gladys Mann was the daughter of William Butland Mann.¹ She married Captain Ernest Kennaway Arbuthnot, son of Major Archibald Ernest Arbuthnot and Anne Elizabeth Ball, on 15 January 1920.¹ She died on 10 May 1946.¹
     From 15 January 1920, her married name became Arbuthnot.¹

     William Butland Mann lived at Broadhampstead, Devon, England^G.¹

     Lt.-Cdr. John Keith Arbuthnot was born on 15 August 1927.¹ He was the son of Captain Ernest Kennaway Arbuthnot and Gladys Mann.¹ He married Susan Philippa Letts, daughter of Kenneth Petrie Letts, on 2 July 1949.¹ He died on 25 June 1998 at age 70.¹
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in the Royal Navy.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He fought in the Korean War in 1951.¹ He was Captain of the H.M.S. Santon between 1957 and 1958.¹ He was Captain of the H.M.S. Dartington between 1958 and 1959.¹ He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1967.¹ He was chief executive of Malta-Gozo Air Services between 1967 and 1992.¹

     Susan Philippa Letts is the daughter of Kenneth Petrie Letts.¹ She married Lt.-Cdr. John Keith Arbuthnot, son of Captain Ernest Kennaway Arbuthnot and Gladys Mann, on 2 July 1949.¹
     From 2 July 1949, her married name became Arbuthnot.¹ She lived in 2003 at 11 Ivry Street, Ipswich, Suffolk, England^G.¹
