He fought in the Second World War between 1939 and 1942, when he became a prisoner of war.2 He was styled as Lord of the manor of Amesbury on 11 July 1968.2 He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Antrobus, of Antrobus, co. Palatine of Chester [U.K., 1815] on 11 July 1968.1

George Arbuthnot was born on 4 December 1772.3 He was the son of Robert Arbuthnot, 2nd of Haddo-Rattray and Mary Urquhart.3 He married Elizabeth Fraser, daughter of Donald Fraser, on 26 April 1810 at St. Mary’s Church, Fort St. George, Madras, IndiaG.3,4 He died on 3 November 1843 at age 70.3
