     In 1527 he was called to Parliament as a minor Baron.1 He lived at Orchardton, ScotlandG.2

Sir Alexander Stewart of Garlies, younger1

     Sir Alexander Stewart of Garlies, younger was the son of Sir Alexander Stewart, 5th of Garlies and Margaret Dunbar.2 He married Catherine Herries, daughter of William Herries, 3rd Lord Herries of Terregles and Catherine Kennedy.2 He died in 1571 at Stirling, Stirlingshire, ScotlandG, killed by Mary, Queen of Scots supporters, in a raid.2
     He was Commissioner for the Kirk of Nithsdale.2 He lived at Garlies, ScotlandG.1 He was appointed Knight in 1565.2
