     Ellen Amelia Arnot was the daughter of David Arnot.¹ She married FitzRoy MacLean Henry Somerset, son of Lt.-Gen. Sir Henry Somerset and Frances Sarah Heathcote, on 18 July 1867.¹ She died on 12 December 1911.¹
     From 18 July 1867, her married name became Somerset.¹

     Edward Henry Somerset was born on 16 April 1868.¹ He was the son of FitzRoy MacLean Henry Somerset and Ellen Amelia Arnot.¹
     He gained the rank of officer in 1884 in the Cape Mounted Rifles.¹ He fought in the Langeberg Campaign.¹ He fought in the Boer War, where he was wounded four times.¹ He fought in the First World War in 1914, in German South West Africa with Cullinan’s Horse, and in France, Egypt and British East Africa with the South African Infantry.¹

     William Grimmer Somerset was born on 16 February 1870.² He was the son of FitzRoy MacLean Henry Somerset and Ellen Amelia Arnot.² He married Annie Pienaar, daughter of J. Pienaar, in 1904.² He died on 22 May 1929 at age 59.²
     He fought in the Langeberg Campaign, with the Cape Mounted Police.²

     Annie Pienaar is the daughter of J. Pienaar.¹ She married William Grimmer Somerset, son of FitzRoy MacLean Henry Somerset and Ellen Amelia Arnot, in 1904.¹
     From 1904, her married name became Somerset.¹

     J. Pienaar lived at Colesberg, South Africa^G.¹

     Henry Plantagenet Somerset was born on 25 January 1880.¹ He was the son of FitzRoy MacLean Henry Somerset and Ellen Amelia Arnot.¹ He died on 28 January 1880.¹

     FitzRoy Henry Somerset was born on 1 February 1881.¹ He was the son of FitzRoy MacLean Henry Somerset and Ellen Amelia Arnot.¹ He married Martha Johanna Watermeyer, daughter of Philippus Johannes Andreas Watermeyer and Martha Johanna van Jaarsveld, on 28 August 1902 at Kimberley, South Africa^G.¹ He died on 13 April 1946 at age 65.¹
     He fought in the Langeberg Campaign.¹ He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1902.¹ He fought in the First World War in 1914.¹

     Martha Johanna Watermeyer was born on 28 March 1882 at Hanover, Cape Province, South Africa^G.² She was the daughter of Philippus Johannes Andreas Watermeyer and Martha Johanna van Jaarsveld.^1,2 She married FitzRoy Henry Somerset, son of FitzRoy MacLean Henry Somerset and Ellen Amelia Arnot, on 28 August 1902 at Kimberley, South Africa^G.¹ She died on 20 November 1956 at age 74 at Kimberley, South Africa^G.²
     From 28 August 1902, her married name became Somerset.¹

     Philippus Johannes Andreas Watermeyer was born on 6 April 1825.² He married, secondly, Martha Johanna van Jaarsveld on 26 December 1878 at Hanover, South Africa^G.² He died on 13 February 1897 at age 71 at Hanover, Cape Province, South Africa^G.²
