     John FitzAlan was born on 14 September 1246.1 He was the son of John FitzAlan and Maud le Botiller.1 He married Isabel de Mortimer, daughter of Roger de Mortimer, Lord of Wigmore and Maud de Briouze.1 He died on 18 March 1271/72 at age 25.1 He was buried at Haughmond Abbey, Shropshire, EnglandG.1
     He succeeded as the 7th Earl of Arundel [E., c. 1138] on 10 December 1267, de jure, but he appears to have never used this title.1 He gained the title of Lord of Clun and Oswestry [feudal barony] on 10 December 1267.1

Isabel le Despenser1

     Isabel le Despenser was born circa 1313.1 She was the daughter of Hugh le Despenser, 1st Lord le Despenser and Lady Eleanor de Clare.1 She married Richard FitzAlan, 3rd/10th Earl of Arundel, son of Edmund Fitzalan, 2nd/9th Earl of Arundel and Alice de Warenne, on 9 February 1320/21.1 She died in 1375.2
     From 9 February 1320/21, her married name became FitzAlan.1 After her marriage, Isabel le Despenser was styled as Countess of Arundel in 1331. Her marriage to Richard FitzAlan, 3rd/10th Earl of Arundel was annulled on 4 December 1344 by Papal mandate, supposedly on the grounds that they were married during their minority, and without their consent. The reality is that the Earl probably wished to be rid of his wife, who had no value to him after her father’s attainder and exectution.1

     Sir Edmund FitzAlan was born circa 1327.1 He was the son of Richard FitzAlan, 3rd/10th Earl of Arundel and Isabel le Despenser.1 He married Lady Sibyl Montagu, daughter of William Montagu, 1st Earl of Salisbury and Catherine Grandison, before July 1349.2 He died after 1377.1
     He was appointed Knight in 1352.1
