Ludwig I Graf zu Sayn-Wittgenstein1 

Ludwig I Graf zu Sayn-Wittgenstein was born on 7 December 1532. He was the son of Wilhelm I Graf zu Sayn-Wittgenstein and Johannette von Isenburg-Grenzau.3 He married, firstly, Anne zu Solms-Braunfels, daughter of Philipp I graf zu Solms-Braunfels and Anna von Tecklenburg-Schwerin, on 14 August 1559.4 He married, secondly, Elisabeth zu Solms-Laubach, daughter of Friedrich Magnus graf zu Solms-Laubach and Agnes von Wied, on 13 January 1567. He died on 2 July 1605 at age 72.
