     Gustaf I Vasa, King of Sweden was born in 1496.1 He was the son of Erik Vasa and Cecily Mansdotter.1 He married, firstly, Katherine von Sachsen-Lauenburg, daughter of Magnus I Herzog von Sachsen-Lauenburg and Katherine von Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttel, in 1531.1 He married, secondly, Margaret Lejonhufvud, daughter of Erik Lejonhufvud, in 1536.1 He married, thirdly, Catherine Stenbock, daughter of Gustaf Stenbock, in 1552.1 He died in 1560.1
     He held the office of Regent of Sweden between 1521 and 1523.1 He succeeded as the King Gustaf of Sweden in 1523.1

     He succeeded as the King Erik XIV of Sweden in 1560.1 He was deposed as King of Sweden in 1568.1
