He married, firstly, Eleanore Wilhelmine von Anhalt-Köthen, daughter of Emanuel Lebrecht Prinz von Anhalt-Köthen and Gisela Agnes Gräfin von Rath, on 24 January 1716 at Nienburg, GermanyG.3 He married, secondly, Sophie Charlotte Albertine von Brandenburg-Bayreuth, daughter of Georg Friedrich Karl Markgraf von Brandenburg-Bayreuth and Dorothea von Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Beck, on 7 April 1734. He died on 19 January 1748 at age 59 at Eisenach, GermanyG.1
