Friedrich Paul Wilhelm Herzog von Württemberg was born on 25 June 1797 at Karlsruhe, Baden-Württemburg, Germany.3 He was the son of Eugen Friedrich Heinrich Herzog von Württemberg and Luise Prinzessin zu Stolberg-Gedern.4 He married Maria Sophia Dorothea Prinzessin von Thurn und Taxis, daughter of Karl Alexander 5th Fürst von Thurn und Taxis and Therese Mathilde Amalie Herzogin von Mecklenburg-Strelitz, on 17 April 1827 at Regensburg, GermanyG.3 He and Maria Sophia Dorothea Prinzessin von Thurn und Taxis were divorced on 2 May 1835.1 He died on 25 November 1860 at age 63 at Mergentheim, GermanyG.4
Friedrich Paul Wilhelm Herzog von Württemberg usually went by his middle name of Paul.4 In 1829 he discovered the sources of the Missouri River.5
