He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Somerset between 1355 and 1378.3 In 1374 he founded a chantry for his family.3 He was Sheriff of Wiltshire or Somerset in 1377.2 He held the office of Escheator for Somerset and Dorset between 1377 and 1379.3
