(Tory) for Perthshire between 1807 and 1812.2 He held the office of a Lord of the Bedchamber between 1812 and 1832.2 He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to the Prince Regent and to the King between 1813 and 1819.2 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.) on 9 April 1818.2 He gained the rank of Major-General in 1819.2 He was appointed Knight Commander, Hanoverian Order (K.C.H.) in 1820.2 He was created 1st Baron Glenlyon, of Glenlyon, co.
