Ahmed Bey Zogu, King of the Albanians was born on 8 October 1895 at Burgajet, AlbaniaG.1 He was the son of Xhemal Zogu Pasha and Sadijé Toptani, Queen Mother of Albania.3,1 He married Geraldine de Nagy-Appony, daughter of Gyula Graf Apponyi de Nagy-Appony and Gladys Virginia Steuart, on 27 April 1938 at Tirana, AlbaniaG.1 He died on 9 April 1961 at age 65 at Paris, FranceG.1
He held the office of Hereditary Governor of Mati in 1911.1 He held the office of Prime Minister of Albania between 3 December 1922 and 10 June 1924.1 He held the office of Prime Minister of Albania between 21 January 1925 and 1 September 1928.1 He gained the title of HM King Zog I of the Albanians (styled as Mreka in Albanian) on 1 September 1928.1 He was deposed as King of Albania on 8 April 1939.1 On 8 April 1939 he left Albania.1 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Burke’s Royal Families of the World.3

He married Susan Barbara Cullen-Ward, daughter of Alan Robert Cullen-Ward and Phyllis Dorothea Murray-Prior, on 7 October 1975 at Biarritz, FranceG.1 He died on 30 November 2011 at age 72.3
