     Lady Catherine Stanhope was the daughter of Philip Stanhope, 2nd Earl of Chesterfield and Lady Elizabeth Dormer.¹ She married Godfrey Clarke, son of Sir Gilbert Clarke and Barbara Clerke, circa 13 June 1706.¹ She died in 1728.¹
     From circa 13 June 1706, her married name became Clarke.¹

     Godfrey Clarke was born circa 1678.¹ He was the son of Sir Gilbert Clarke and Barbara Clerke.¹ He married Lady Catherine Stanhope, daughter of Philip Stanhope, 2nd Earl of Chesterfield and Lady Elizabeth Dormer, circa 13 June 1706.¹ He died on 25 March 1734.¹
     He was educated at Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Derbyshire between 1710 and 1734.¹

     Barbara Clerke was the daughter of George Clerke.¹ She married Sir Gilbert Clarke, son of Godfrey Clarke and Elizabeth Milward, on 6 July 1671.¹ She died in 1687.¹
     From 6 July 1671, her married name became Clarke.¹

     Godfrey Clarke married, firstly, Elizabeth Milward, daughter of Sir Thomas Milward.¹ He died in 1670.¹
