     Francis William Loring was born on 26 May 1838 at Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, U.S.A.¹ He married Caroline Lyttelton Pole-Carew, daughter of William Henry Pole-Carew and Frances Anne Buller, on 30 December 1896.² He died on 29 October 1905 at age 67 at Merano, Italy.^2,1 He was buried at Evangelical Cemetery, Merano, Italy.¹
     He was an artist, with exhibits at Exposition Univesalle, Paris, the World’s Columbian Exposition and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts.¹ He lived at Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.A.^G.²
