     From 12 October 1934, her married name became Mitchell. From 23 June 1958, her married name became McLaren.

     Alec Maskell Mitchell was born on 22 October 1904.² He was the son of Colonel Alexander Mitchell and Meta Mary Graham Paton.² He married, firstly, Hon. Rosemary Jean Balfour, daughter of Patrick Balfour, 2nd Baron Kinross and Caroline Elsie Johnstone-Douglas, on 12 October 1934.³ He and Hon. Rosemary Jean Balfour were divorced in 1958.³ He married, secondly, Irene MacSweeny, daughter of John MacSweeny, on 5 May 1958.² He died on 6 September 1964 at age 59.²

     Robert Monteath McLaren is the son of James Alexander McLaren.¹ He married Hon. Rosemary Jean Balfour, daughter of Patrick Balfour, 2nd Baron Kinross and Caroline Elsie Johnstone-Douglas, on 23 June 1958.¹

     James Alexander McLaren died before 1963.

     Meta Mary Graham Paton is the daughter of John Paton.¹ She married Colonel Alexander Mitchell, son of Colonel Alexander Mitchell and Emma Peace.¹

     Sir Harold Paton Mitchell, 1st Bt. was born on 21 May 1900.¹ He was the son of Colonel Alexander Mitchell and Meta Mary Graham Paton.² He married Mary Pringle, daughter of William Pringle of Whytbank, on 17 November 1947.^3,2 He died on 8 April 1983 at age 82.⁴

Fife and of Luscar, Province of Alberta, Canada [U.K.] on 1 October 1945.² He was director of LNER.¹ He was appointed KStJ.¹ He wrote the book In My Stride, published 1951.² He was Lecturer in Hispanic American Studies between 1959 and 1965 at Stanford University, Palo Alto, California, U.S.A.¹ He wrote the book Europe in the Caribbean, published 1963.² He wrote the book Caribbean Patterns, published 1967.² On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.⁴

     Alexander John Mitchell was born on 16 February 1944.¹ He is the son of Alec Maskell Mitchell and Hon. Rosemary Jean Balfour.¹ He married Christine Vincent on 15 October 1969.¹

     Esther Mary Rose Mitchell was born on 13 April 1936.¹ She is the daughter of Alec Maskell Mitchell and Hon. Rosemary Jean Balfour.¹ She married Richard Alistair Cobbold, son of Lt.-Cdr. Alistair Philip Cobbold and Mary Elizabeth Molloy, on 25 July 1959.¹ She and Richard Alistair Cobbold were divorced in 1968.¹
     Her married name became Cobbold.
