(Conservative) for Sevenoaks between 1892 and 1918.1 He held the office of a Lord of Treasury between 1902 and 1905.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He held the office of Finance Secretary to the War Office between 1915 and 1919.1 He was a member of the Army Council between 1915 and 1919.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1917.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Bromley between 1918 and 1919.1 He was created 1st Baron Forster, of Lepe, co. Southampton [U.K.] on 12 December 1919.1 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of St. Michael and St. George (G.C.M.G.) in 1920.1 He held the office of Governor-General of Australia between 1920 and 1925.1 He was appointed Knight of Grace, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (K.G.St.J.)1 On his death, his title became extinct.1
