     Mary Ramsay was born circa 1650.1 She was the daughter of Sir Andrew Ramsay, Lord Abbotshall and Janet Craw.1 She married Sir John Kirkcaldy of Grange, 1st Bt., son of Robert Kirkcaldy of Grange and Anna Leslie, on 1 December 1663 at St. Gile’s Cathedral, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1
     From 1 December 1663, her married name became Kirkcaldy.1

     Sir William Douglas, 3rd of Kirkness was born circa 1621.2 He was the son of Archibald Douglas, 2nd of Kirkness and Elizabeth Broune.2 He married Isabel Hay, daughter of George Hay.2 He died in 1650 at Broxmouth, East Lothian, Scotland.2
     He fought in the Battle of Dunbar on 3 September 1650.2 He gained the rank of Colonel.2
