Thomas Hare1 
He was admitted to Inner Temple on 22 November 1833 entitled to practise as a barrister.1 He devised the electoral system of proportional representation by single transferable vote.2 He wrote the book Machinery of Representation, published 1857.1 He wrote the book Treatise on the Election of representatives: Parliamentary and Municipal, published 1859.1

Most Rev. Edward White Benson1 
Most Rev. Edward White Benson was born on 14 July 1829.3 He was the son of Edward White Benson and Harriet Baker.1,3 He married Mary Sidgwick, daughter of Reverend William Sidgwick and Mary Crofts, in 1859.3 He died on 11 October 1896 at age 67.3
He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.3 He was a master between 1859 and 1872 at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, England.3 He held the office of Bishop of Truro between 1877 and 1883.3 He held the office of Archbishop of Canterbury between 1883 and 1896.3
