Brien fitz Count was born illegitimately before 1119.1 He was the son of Alain IV Fergent de Bretagne, Duc de Bretagne.1 He married Lady Maud of Wallingford, daughter of Robert d’Oilly of Wallingford, before 1119.2 He died after 1142.2
He was also known as Brien of Wallingford.1 He gained the title of Lord of Over Gwent [Feudal] before 1119, which he held either by grant to him and his wife, or in his own right.2 Before 16 October 1119 he was a Welsh magnate.1 He resigned as Lord of Over Gwent, in favour of Miles of Gloucester, Earl of Hereford in 1141/42.2
