     He gained the rank of Major in the West Riding Regiment.¹ He held the office of Chief Constable of Merionethshire between 1883 and 1907.¹ On 6 May 1904 he was granted the rank of a baron’s younger son.¹

     Henry Burham M. Harris is the son of John Harris.¹ He married Isabella Lilias Buchanan, daughter of Dr. Benjamin Bartlett Buchanan and Mary Ann Ross, on 8 October 1839 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.¹

     Harriet Royds Grey was the daughter of Henry Anthony Grey.² She married Hon. Thomas William Best, son of Hon. Reverend Samuel Best and Emma Duke, on 16 September 1879.¹ She died on 8 July 1935.¹
     From 16 September 1879, her married name became Best.

     John Samuel Best was born on 28 July 1883.¹ He was the son of Hon. Thomas William Best and Harriet Royds Grey.² He married Anne Stewart Jamieson, daughter of James Topp Jamieson, on 7 September 1912.¹ He died on 21 April 1940 at age 56, without issue.¹
     He was educated at Shrewsbury School, Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England.¹ He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.¹ He was a tea planter at Assam, Bengal, India.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Gloucestershire in 1930.¹

     James Topp Jamieson lived at Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹ He lived at Assam, Bengal, India.¹

     Anne Stewart Jamieson was the daughter of James Topp Jamieson.² She married John Samuel Best, son of Hon. Thomas William Best and Harriet Royds Grey, on 7 September 1912.¹ She died on 30 October 1969.¹
     From 7 September 1912, her married name became Best.

     Humphrey Willie Best was born on 2 July 1884.¹ He was the son of Hon. Thomas William Best and Harriet Royds Grey.² He married Helen Grace Meakin, daughter of Lewis James Meakin, on 28 July 1914.¹ He died on 29 April 1959 at age 74.¹
     He fought in the First World War.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1919.¹ He gained the rank of Commodore in 1939.¹ He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1944.¹

     Lewis James Meakin lived at Ashby-de-la-Zouche, Leicestershire, England.¹

     Helen Grace Meakin was the daughter of Lewis James Meakin.² She married Humphrey Willie Best, son of Hon. Thomas William Best and Harriet Royds Grey, on 28 July 1914.¹ She died in 1975.¹
